On November 20th a group of Medford High School student athletes, coaches, and Mayor McGlynn attended the 22nd Annual MIAA Sportsmanship Summit at Gillette Stadium. Over 500 student athletes and coaches throughout the state attended breakout sessions throughout the day to learn about spreading sportsmanship through the MIAA’s Battle of the Fan’s contest. Guest speaker Mike Smith also spoke about ways to incorporate sportsmanship into a school community.
The highlight of the summit came when Medford High’s Gigi Braga, Katrina Raschi, and Victoria Raschi won first place in the 15th annual MIAA student sportsmanship multimedia contest. The student sportsmanship multimedia contest was open to all students in grades 9-12 at MIAA member schools and the video could not exceed three minutes.
