“A” Day

Attention spring athletes: tryouts begin Monday, March 21st. All candidates need an updated permission slip and physical on file in the Nurse’s Office.

There is ELL MCAS Academy TODAY after school. We have 2 sessions left before the exam. Please stop by C315 for MCAS practice and strategies. Our last session will be Monday, March 21st, the day before the test. Come to as many as you can!

Invitations to apply for the National Honor Society have been mailed to eligible juniors. Any questions, please see Ms. Liu in C209.

Attention all juniors: Do you want a free ticket to the Junior Prom? Well the junior that sells the most popcorn will win one! Money and filled out forms must be returned to Ms. Rigano’s room, C316 by this Friday. Any junior that did not receive a form in homeroom can stop by Ms. Rigano’s room to pick one up.

Want to get published? The MHS Mantra has received a grant from the Medford Educational Fund to print a magazine of the best poetry, essays, fiction, photography, and art. Everyone at MHS is invited to submit work. Please drop off all submissions by Thursday, March 24th to Mr. Heinegg in C213 or come talk to him if you have any questions.

SkillsUSA members will be selling raffle tickets during both lunches this week to raise money to attend the state competition. Please visit them to see the great prizes that are available and to grab a flyer for the fundraising event that is being held TOMORROW at Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. The raffle drawing will be held Friday.

The Foreign Language Department will be hosting out annual Carnaval/Carnevale Dance on Thursday, March 24th at 7pm. Come and join in on the games, dancing and food! Tickets are only $5 – and are now being now being sold in room C103 before and after school!

There will be absolutely NO dismissals for any students attending the Sophomore Semi-Formal this Friday,

There is a mandatory National Honor Society meeting in C209 on Monday at 2:25; please be prompt!

There will be a mandatory Foreign Language Club meeting TODAY at 2:30. Please let Senora Lepore know if you have a problem attending this meeting!

Saturday the 26th – Come one, come all to MHS’s Medford Calling Concert! The show starts at seven and features some of the best musicians our school has to offer. Come rock out with us!

Sign up to participate in Medford High School’s first ever rap battle hosted by Amnesty International. People interested in rapping must submit a written rap to Ms. Ross in room C212 by Monday. The winner of the rap battle will receive a special prize. Tickets to attend the event will be sold all next week at the lunches for $1. If you buy tickets at the door, they will be $3.

Attention students: April bus passes will be on sale next all next week until the 28th. Do not miss your chance to get one!

Spring outdoor track will hold its first meeting and practice this Monday after school in the gym. We hope to welcome many new athletes as well as our veteran runners back for the Spring season. All athletes will need an updated permission slip and physical on file at the Nurse’s Office before you can begin practicing.

Spring has sprung! It’s time to start planning our new MHS community garden. Thanks to a “Fuel Up to Play 60” grant, we can plan and expand our garden. All current Garden Club members and interested students and faculty should attend our first meeting this Thursday at 2:30 in room C119. Come find out how you can get involved and get community service at the same time!
