Monday, Medford High School received an automated telephone threat in the morning. This same robo-call was made to numerous schools throughout the state.
MHS and MVTHS calmly assessed the threat, notified and collaborated with local police and fire officials, and completed a building-wide sweep and review of all cameras. While this took place, students were placed in a Stay in Place. In a Stay in Place, entry into the building is restricted, all students are accounted for and remain in their classrooms, and instruction continues. All of this information was shared with students, faculty and families within one hour of the threat.
We are happy to report that this procedure went well, and that today was, “business as usual”.
Thank you,
Dr. Perella
