“A” Day

Attention NHS members: there is a mandatory meeting TODAY at 2:35 in B312, Dr. Brandl’s room.

The Fitness Center will be open to all students and staff on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:30-4:30. The Fitness Center will be closed this Monday, all day for maintenance.

Attention all students – Class Elections are coming soon! Please consider running for office. Interested candidates should attend their upcoming class meeting for more information on how to run.

Who wants to become the next state championship rower? Sign up for crew after school in the Main Office; no experience necessary!

Attention seniors: The first senior event is almost here! Our senior-year kickoff event will be held at Kimball Farms on Thursday, September 28th from 3-8 pm. The cost is $40, which will include great food, ice cream and all of the amazing activities that Kimball Farms has to offer. Get your tickets early, and have an unforgettable start to your senior year. Tickets will be on sale in B207 and C119 from this Monday to Friday, September 22nd.

There will be a Senior Class meeting in Mr. Wilson’s room, C117, after school on Thursday, September 14th for any student interested in running for Senior Class Office. Attendance is mandatory if you plan on running for class office.

There will be a Drama Club meeting Tuesday, September 12th, after school. Location to be announced.

The CCSR will be holding their first meeting of the year this Monday, for all new and returning members, in the Library from 2:30-3:00. Come check it out!

The first Students of the Fells meeting will be held Tuesday after school in Mr. Weigel’s room, B306. Any students interested in the Fells Outdoor Activities are welcome.

This Tuesday, come join the Medford Mustang boys soccer team as they host a fundraiser at Boston Burger Company in Davis Square. Stop by at any time during the day and 10% of the proceeds come back for the team!

Attention students: the backpack policy will officially go into effect on Monday, September 11th. This means that students will not be allowed to carry a backpack or bag during the school day. If you still have a problem with your locker, please see you Assistant Principal to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Attention MHS – Come and support the Foreign Language Club as they host their annual Car Wash on Wednesday at 2:30 at the front entrance of MHS.

The Dance Team is looking for experienced dancers in grades 9-12 who are interested in auditioning for a spot on the team and performing at popular school events. Audition dates will be Tuesday and Thursday starting promptly at 2:30. See Ms. Briand in C105 for more information.

The Guidance Department will be holding the PSAT exam on Wednesday, October 11th during the school day. All Juniors are automatically registered for free. Sophomores have the option of registering for this exam, but space is limited. If interested, please see Ms. Pierre-Paul in the Guidance Office by September 20th. The cost is $16, payable by cash or money order. First come, first served.

The Guidance Department will be hosting the Senior College Night this Tuesday at 7 pm in the Caron Theatre. Please come to learn more about post high school planning and the college application process.

Reminder to seniors planning on taking the October SAT: TODAY is the last day to register without having to pay a late fee.

Here are some rules for the lunchtime gymnasium activities:

1) No food or drink allowed in the gymnasium

2) Physical Education appropriate shoes only (no heels, boots, or flip-flops)

3) Lunchtime activities take place in Gym 1 and 2 only. Students at lunch should not be in the athletic hallways or bathrooms and should not interfere with Physical Education classes

4) Students must be active while in the gymnasium

5) No books, bags, or writing utensils allowed in the gymnasium
