Monthly MBTA Bus Passes
Prices and Rules Information for School Year 2018-2019
The MBTA Board of Directors approved the following fare structure for student’s passes
September 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019
$30.00 monthly for a 7-day pass
If your child desires to purchase an MBTA monthly Bus Pass, the following procedures must be strictly adhered to:
Students must purchase a pass from Joanne Mortell in Accounts Payable Department at Medford High School on the dates listed below. The Accounts Payable Department is located on the right of the main lobby. Hours to purchase a pass are 7:00 A.M to 8:30 A.M and at the end of the school day. The phone number for the Accounts Payable Department is 781-393-2266.
No cash or personal checks are accepted money orders only. All money orders are made out to The City of Medford. You can get a money order at a bank, post office or at some grocery stores.
STUDENT’S NAME, ADDRESS and GRADE MUST BE WRITTEN ON THE MONEY ORDER.
The 7 day Student Monthly pass is $30.00 per student per month. You can also purchase a 10 month yearly card for $300.00.
Passes should be available for your child on September 4th.
A new M7 Card can only be purchased on the 1st of every month no exceptions. If you are reactivating your active bus pass, this NEEDS to be done by the 27th of each month.
Example: You have an active card for the month of September. To keep the same card active you need to bring a money order for $30 on or before the 27th of September to have an active card for October. If you miss the renewal date, your card will only stay active for the remainder of the month. You will then need a new card that can only be issued on the 1st of the following month. We encourage you to keep your current card active month to month so there is no interruption.
