What everyone Needs to Know
Medford High School celebrating Junior and Senior Prom for the academic year of 2014! At the start of the year prom seems so far away, and now it is here less than a week away. Dresses, dates, flowers, dancing, dinner there is so much to plan for and so much to discuss between the parent and the child.
Social Host Liability is a presentation being brought to Medford High School for Junior and Senior’s to educate them on the consequences that underage drinking may cause and the risk for families when hosting a party in their parents’ home.
This presentation is also being offered to you, the parents, along with discounts for prom activities for your attendance. Don’t miss the opportunity on Monday, May 5th from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm when an expert will detail the legal liability for furnishing alcohol or condoning the use of alcohol in your home. In the auditorium at Medford High you will also have the opportunity to ask experts in a panel discussion about civil liability, consequences for underage drinking, how to provide safe rides, what the school rules and expectations are for prom and other questions you may have.
The panel discussion will feature: Jay Campbell from Campbell, Campbell, Edwards & Conroy’s Law firm, Officer Ricarrdi from Medford Police Department, Ian Wong from Tufts University, Health Education Director and Rick Caraviello, Medford City Council.
Campbell, Campbell, Edwards & Conroy’s law firm will share stories of the legal consequences for possession of alcohol for those under 21 and educate you on the Social Host Law. Come learn how to keep your home and children safe. Good kids at times make bad decisions, and good parents sometimes believe they are providing a safe place for their children and his/her friends when in fact they are not at all.
Thank you in advance for ensuring that our students have a safe and healthy prom experience. For further questions contact Mr. Nick Tucci.
